Scania Truck Driving Simulater

Scania Truck Driving Simulator has finally arrived for PC. If you enjoyed the Euro Truck Simulator series then you will definitely enjoy this game. In many ways, Scania Truck Driving Simulator is a lot like Euro Truck Simulator. But instead of owning your own trucking company, the game is about driving through dangerous locations and completing different challenges.
As someone who enjoys hauling cargo in the air (FSX) and on rails (Train Simulator 2013), I realized that truck driving can also be enjoyable after trying out SCANIA Truck Driving Simulator by SCS Software.  Their previous title, which I have never tried before, is Euro Truck Simulator.  SCANIA Truck Driving runs on their next-generation game engine and is sort of a teaser to what’s coming in the soon-to-be-released Euro Truck Simulator 2.   So here’s a run down on what SCANIA Truck Driving has to offer.

When you start the game, the profile screen is presented to you.  Here, you can manage and select a user profile.  When crating a profile, it asks for your name, preferred truck color, steering wheel side preference and gender.  The choice of steering wheel location (left-hand-drive or right-hand-drive) is interesting as it enables to you use a profile that you are comfortable with.  But the problem is that the fictional world that you are driving in runs in a right-hand traffic environment (continental Europe) so you have no choice but to drive on the right side of the road to avoid oncoming traffic.  The left-hand-drive configuration is optimal for these driving conditions no matter what your preference is.  It would have been nice if it conforms with your driving side preference.  But if the world is real-life Europe, then we have no choice but to follow the conventions.
